and we love a daddy. Here’s a few ideas for ya:

What the kids can make/do:

  • The "All About My Dad" interview. Ask your 3-year-old how old Dad is and what he does all day. The answers ("he's 100, his job is work") ARE the gift.

  • Draw "Dad doing his favorite thing." Pairs with the interview. You may or may not get a hand drawn image of dad on the toilet to hang above the toilet.

  • Decorate store-bought donuts…Because the outcome will probably be a little better than your kid trying to make something from scratch

  • The honest gift: take the kids to one of the things above so Dad gets a quiet house and a nap.

🎉 What Is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth (June 19) is a federal holiday marking June 19, 1865, the day enslaved people in Texas finally received word that they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. Texas was part of the Confederacy, so the proclamation didn't reach them until Union soldiers arrived. That gap is the whole point of the holiday.

🍓 Activity: Make Strawberry Soda

  • Strawberries · sugar · water · sparkling water

  • Make a simple syrup: simmer equal parts strawberries, sugar, and water for about 10 minutes → strain out the fruit → pour a few spoonfuls of syrup over ice, top with sparkling water
